The first option is Mohamed Shokry from Ceramica Cleopatra, whose name has been linked with a return to Al Ahly multiple times, especially after he came close to joining last season before suffering a severe ACL injury that sidelined him for a long period. There were previous talks about a clause in his contract with Ceramica that allowed Al Ahly to buy him for 15 million Egyptian pounds, but close sources confirmed that this clause expired with the end of the previous contract, meaning Al Ahly will need to take new steps to secure his signing.

The second option is Tawfiq Mohamed, left back for Petrojet, who has drawn interest from Al Ahly officials who have officially inquired with his club about the possibility of signing him in the upcoming summer transfer window. Tawfiq is considered a good local choice who could strengthen the coaching staff’s options on the left side.

The third option is Mohamed Hamdy, a left back currently on loan from Enppi to Zamalek, who appears to be a strong candidate to join Al Ahly, especially since Zamalek does not plan to purchase him permanently after the loan period ends. It is worth noting that Zamalek obtained Mohamed Hamdy on a one-season loan with an option to buy.

With this approach, Al Ahly aims to finalize the left-back position soon to ensure the team’s readiness before the Club World Cup starts, given the importance of the role and its significant impact on the team’s defensive and offensive performance. The coaching staff hopes to select the best fit who can add strength and flexibility to the squad, along with diversifying options available to the coach to achieve the best results next season.
