Udinese have officially announced the signing of Austrian defender David Alaba, with the 34-year-old beginning a new chapter in his career in the Italian league.
Alaba completed his medical examinations in Rome before signing his contract with Udinese. The deal is for one season, according to the announcement.

The Austrian defender emphasized that he does not see himself simply as an experienced player joining the squad, making clear that he wants to contribute on the pitch.
“I’m not coming here simply to be the experienced player in the team, and I’m certainly not coming here to end my career. I’m still very ambitious and I still strongly believe in what I can offer on the pitch,” Alaba said.
He added: “I want to keep progressing, give my best possible level in Serie A week after week and achieve something. I’m very excited about this challenge, and I still have a lot to prove to myself.”

Alaba became a free agent after leaving Real Madrid during the summer following five seasons with the Spanish club.
During his time in Madrid, he won 11 trophies, including two Champions League titles, two La Liga titles, two FIFA Club World Cups and the Copa del Rey.
Before joining Real Madrid, Alaba enjoyed a highly successful spell at Bayern Munich, establishing himself as a major figure in European football before moving on to a new chapter in Italy.
