Former Zamalek chairman, Counselor Mortada Mansour, filed an urgent complaint to the Public Prosecutor accusing the current club board, headed by Hussein Labib, along with several members, of illegally seizing Zamalek Club’s land in 6th of October City, which spans about 130 acres.

Mansour stated in his complaint that the land was fully purchased, with the last installment paid in July 2020—one year before its due date—in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, who laid the foundation stone for the Zamalek Stadium and social building after all official licenses and approvals were obtained. He emphasized that the land exclusively belongs to the club members and cannot be disposed of except through them.

The complaint also revealed a shocking attempt to sell part of the land through a well-known contractor and his partners, in coordination with some current board members, which constitutes a clear violation of laws and the rights of the club and its members.

This complaint escalates the ongoing dispute over the ownership of the land, which has stirred widespread controversy among the concerned parties, amid calls to hold accountable those responsible for any illegal actions affecting the club’s assets and history.
