Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has issued an official apology to head coach Xabi Alonso, his teammates, and the club’s supporters following his angry reaction when being substituted during the El Clásico match against Barcelona in La Liga 🇪🇸⚽.
In a statement posted on his social media, Vinícius wrote:
“Today, I want to apologize to all Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in El Clásico. As I did personally during training today, I also want to apologize again to my teammates, the club, and its president.”
He added:
“Sometimes my emotions take over because of my constant desire to win and help my team. My competitive nature comes from the love I have for this club and everything it represents. I promise to keep fighting every second for Real Madrid, as I’ve done since day one.” 🤍💪
According to Marca, Real Madrid’s management has no plans to fine or punish the Brazilian star, viewing the incident as a momentary emotional reaction to his unexpected substitution.
Vinícius had shown visible frustration after being taken off during the El Clásico at Santiago Bernabéu, which ended in a 2–1 victory for Real Madrid over Barcelona.
