Tollan revealed that the technical staff decided to form a team consisting solely of players from the local league, especially after Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the main national team, refused to participate in the tournament due to its proximity to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He added, "The door is open to all local players to participate, regardless of their names."
Ahmed Hassan to Attend Arab Cup Draw
Tollan also mentioned that former Egypt star Ahmed Hassan will attend the tournament draw in Qatar, reflecting the involvement of experienced former players in supporting the team during the competition.

The second edition of the Arab Cup will be held in Qatar from December 1 to 18, 2023, as officially announced by FIFA. The tournament qualifiers will take place on November 25 and 26, featuring 16 teams competing for the title.
