Sports journalist Khaled El-Ghandour announced on his official Facebook page that Tunisian national team star Youssef Msakni has officially signed with Espérance Tunis, returning to the club after a 12-year absence ⚡.

El-Ghandour wrote: "Youssef Msakni, the Tunisian star, is now a player at Espérance."

The club shared a video on its official X account with the caption: "The artist returns… let the show begin," exciting fans eager to see one of the club’s most beloved stars back in action.

Msakni joined Espérance on a free transfer after his contract with Al-Arabi SC in Qatar ended in May, signing a deal for one and a half seasons.

The 35-year-old played for Al-Arabi between 2021 and 2023, after moving from Al-Duhail, winning the Emir Cup 2023 and scoring the winning goal in the 2024 Qatar-UAE Super Cup against Sharjah, giving the club its first international title.

His professional journey began in 2013 with Al-Duhail, with a short stint in Europe at Belgian club Eupen, before returning to Espérance, where he made his mark between 2008 and 2013. He led the team to the 2011 CAF Champions League title and won four Tunisian league titles, becoming one of the club’s iconic figures over the last two decades.

The return of “The Artist,” as fans call him, adds valuable experience to Espérance as the team continues its pursuit of domestic and continental trophies 🏆.
