After a short rest period granted by Belgian head coach Yannick Ferreira to the players following the Cairo Derby against Al Ahly, Zamalek’s first football team resumed training today, Thursday, at the Military Academy Stadium. This comes in preparation for their upcoming match against Ghazl El Mahalla, scheduled to take place the day after tomorrow, Saturday, at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, as part of the tenth round of the Premier League competition.
The technical staff is keen to prepare the players physically and technically, focusing on improving fitness levels and correcting tactical weaknesses observed in previous matches, especially after the recent defeat to Al Ahly, which marked a turning point for the team.

Correcting Mistakes and Boosting Morale
Yannick Ferreira focuses during training sessions on analyzing defensive and offensive errors made in past matches, believing that repeating these mistakes could cost the team more points and negatively affect Zamalek’s chances of maintaining its lead in the league.
The coaching staff also carefully distributes roles and emphasizes tactical discipline and adherence to the match plan. Additionally, Ferreira works on motivating the players psychologically to restore confidence and instill a fighting spirit following the recent loss, stressing the importance of winning upcoming matches to secure the league title.

Zamalek’s Position in the League Table
Zamalek currently tops the Egyptian Premier League table with 17 points, having won five matches, drawn two, and lost two. The team has secured significant victories against Ceramica Cleopatra, Modern Sport, Pharco, Al Masry, and Ismaily, which has given them a strong foundation in the competition.
At the same time, the team recorded positive draws against Al Mokawloon Al Arab and El Gouna, while suffering defeats against Wadi Degla and Al Ahly.
