This decision comes as a protest by the club against the way the competition has been managed this season, which the club described as lacking fairness, integrity, and transparency—especially following what it called the "unjust" decision issued by the Association’s board regarding the sanctions for the recent Cairo Derby match, which witnessed Al Ahly’s withdrawal on March 11.
