Journalist Ahmed Abdel Basset has revealed new and intriguing developments regarding Zamalek Club’s official complaint against its player Ahmed Mostafa Sayed, known as “Zizo,” which was submitted on May 4 to the Egyptian Football Association and the Disciplinary Committee.

Abdel Basset explained that Zamalek sent two consecutive letters inquiring about the lack of investigation into the complaint, despite more than a month having passed since its submission. The complaint included Zamalek's assertion that Zizo's contract runs until July 1, 2025, meaning any negotiations or transfer before that date would be considered illegal from the club’s perspective.

He confirmed that the Disciplinary Committee has already prepared the reasoning behind its upcoming decision, which reportedly includes major surprises that have yet to be revealed. This paves the way for a possible escalation in the dispute, especially given the
significant media and public attention the case is receiving.

In another development, media figure Ahmed Shobeir settled the controversy regarding Zizo’s future and his expected move to Al Ahly. On his radio show "Maʿ Shobeir" on ON Sport FM, he stated that the official announcement would come after Zamalek plays in the Egypt Cup final — a match expected to mark Zizo's final appearance in the white jersey.

Shobeir also noted that Zamalek made a major error by submitting three different end-of-season dates (June 30, July 1, and June 12), which confused the Competitions Committee and stirred debate over when Zizo would be eligible to leave. However, the Egyptian Premier League confirmed that the official end of the season is only recognized after the conclusion of the Premier League and Egypt Cup — the League Cup is not factored in. Therefore, the player may transfer after his final official match in the Cup.

Meanwhile, as fans remain preoccupied with Zizo’s situation, Al Ahly’s delegation is set to travel to the United States today, Wednesday, to participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The team will kick off its campaign against Inter Miami on June 15 in Group A, which also includes Portugal’s FC Porto and Brazil’s Palmeiras — marking a new global challenge for the Red Devils.
