Ahmed Rateb began his artistic journey in childhood, participating in school plays. His acting skills developed further when he joined the university's drama group while studying in the Faculty of Engineering. He graduated from the High Institute of Dramatic Arts, and started his career in television, later moving to theater and cinema.

He was known for his comedic roles, which were simple and natural, and won several awards, including the Radio and Television Festival Award for his role in the series "Umm Kulthum."
