His Life and Upbringing
Abdel Hafeez El-Tatawy was born in Mahalla Monuf in Tanta District, Gharbia Governorate. He graduated from Law School in 1949 and then enrolled in the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, graduating in 1950. He balanced law and acting, and served as a professor of acting at the institute. His theatrical group, "The Free Theatre", won the State Appreciation Award in 1958.
He had one daughter and three sons.
