Kawthar Younis

Kawthar Younis 🎬 is an Egyptian filmmaker born in 1993 and a student at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Egypt.

🏆 Her short film, "Everyday Story", won first prize in the Civic Engagement Competition organized by The American University in Cairo.

🎥 Her first feature-length documentary, "A Present from the Past", was her graduation project from film school. The film documents an emotional journey where she takes her father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, on a trip to Italy in search of his old memories, presented in a spontaneous and deeply human style.

✨ Kawthar Younis is considered one of the promising Egyptian filmmakers, known for her realistic and intimate storytelling style.
