Started as an actor in the film Laila (1927) alongside Aziza Amir.
Worked as a newspaper illustrator for several years before returning to cinema.
Studied filmmaking in Paris, mastering directing, editing, and production management.
Returned to Egypt and directed his first successful film, Bayaa’t Al-Tuffah (1939).
Became one of the most notable directors in musical films, especially with Naima Akef.
