Known as "The Brunette of the Nile", she was one of the icons of classic Egyptian cinema. Her career spanned over 60 years, from the 1940s to the early 2000s.

She was discovered by director Mohamed Karim, making her debut in Mamnoo’ El Hob (Forbidden Love, 1942) alongside Mohamed Abdel Wahab. 🎶
Youssef Wahbi introduced her in films such as Ibn El Haddad and Awladi.
She was one of the only two actresses (along with Faten Hamama) to star alongside Egypt’s four legendary singers:
