🔸 About His Life

Shady Sorour was born in Cairo and has been passionate about Hollywood movies and filmmaking in the United States since childhood. He started making short films using his mobile phone’s camera, which motivated him to learn filmmaking online in July 2011. He learned visual effects, video editing, directing, acting, and everything related to cinema.

In August 2012, he started making his own films, but initially, he faced failure. He then decided to turn to theater, where he trained for over a year in his university’s theater, as well as on El-Hanager Theater at the Opera House. After a period of training and playing small roles, he decided to leave the theater due to the lack of opportunities and slow progress.

🌱 His Rise to Fame

A phenomenon called "Vines" emerged, which are short comedic videos lasting from 7 to 15 seconds, filmed using a mobile phone camera and requiring no heavy equipment. Shady seized this opportunity and started making these videos. Despite the humble start and receiving criticisms, he continued making videos and built friendships with the administrators of famous Vine pages, which helped him achieve 3.6 million subscribers in 2018.

By 2015, his videos began reaching one million views or more for each new video. His videos, which depict society in a comedic light through short films, were gaining popularity.

🎬 Cinematic Experience

Shady starred in the film "Titanic: The Arabic Version" in 2016, alongside actress Bushra, directed by Mohamed Khader.

🚪 His Leaving Islam

On February 15, 2019, Shady announced leaving Islam through a post on his verified Facebook page, where he wrote:

"I haven’t left the house for months, living in a prison. I left Islam because of the racism and ingratitude in people’s hearts. I lost all the people I once loved and became alone."

He explained that his reason for leaving Islam was due to racism and ingratitude in people’s hearts, stating that he had lost many of those he loved and became isolated.
