🌙 Eid al-Adha 2025 / 1446 AH Sermon – A Message of Faith, Sacrifice, and Noble Conduct 🌙
On this glorious day, one of Allah’s greatest days, mosque imams delivered the Eid al-Adha sermon this year under a comprehensive theme combining the glorification of Allah’s rituals, sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and civilized behavior. The sermon united the light of faith with the realities of life, guiding hearts towards Allah, minds towards awareness, and morals towards refinement.

✨ First Theme: Honoring the Day of Eid
The imams began by reminding people of the greatness of this day, which the Prophet ﷺ called "the greatest day before Allah." They reminded everyone that Eid al-Adha is not just a day of eating and drinking but a day of remembrance, gratitude, glorification, and joy in obeying Allah. On this day, pilgrims gather on Mount Arafat, and Muslims unite in the word of monotheism.

"And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts."
(Surah Al-Hajj, 22:32)
🕋 Second Theme: The Story of Sacrifice – A Lesson in Submission and Obedience
The sermon recalled the story of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail (peace be upon them), the day the father stood ready to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah, and the son accepted his Lord’s command. This scene manifests the highest level of faith and complete submission to Allah’s command.
"[Ibrahim said], ‘O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think.’ He said, ‘O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.’"
(Surah As-Saffat, 37:102)
The sacrifice commemorates this moment, where the Muslim offers a sacrifice to Allah, stripped of desires, proclaiming:
"Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you."
(Surah Al-Hajj, 22:37)

🌿 Third Theme: Conduct on Eid – Between Joy and Discipline
The sermon clearly addressed some negative behaviors spreading during Eid days and called on the Muslim community:
Do not let slaughtering in the streets be a scene that discourages people from this great ritual.
Do not taint the joy of Eid with harassment, harm, or chaos.
Do not turn the streets into places of bloodshed, waste, and danger.
Rather, make Eid a day of cleanliness, mercy, respect, and refined joy.
As we offer the sacrifice to Allah, let us also offer society good behavior and noble character.

💞 Fourth Theme: Compassion and Family Ties
The sermon emphasized the importance of visiting relatives, checking on the poor, giving charity from the sacrificial meat, treating neighbors well, bringing happiness to children, and avoiding hatred and disputes.

"You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another." — Hadith

📿 Fifth Theme: Supplication and Gratitude
The sermon concluded with a heartfelt prayer, asking Allah to accept the righteous deeds of Muslims and to return Eid to the Islamic nation with goodness, victory, security, compassion, and contentment.
"O Allah, make our days Eid with contentment, our hearts full of guidance, our lands safe with faith, protect the pilgrims of Your House, be pleased with us, and do not make us deprived, O Most Merciful of the merciful."
On this day, we learn that Eid al-Adha is not just a ritual but a message:
To be an obedient servant, with a heart full of faith, and conduct that embodies Islam.
