Indian yoga expert Siddha Akchar stated that yoga serves as a natural and effective way to prevent gout by improving metabolism, enhancing blood circulation, and helping the body eliminate toxins.

He explained that the accumulation of uric acid in the blood is a key factor leading to joint pain, stiffness, and gout, noting that this acid is produced when purine compounds found in protein-rich foods are broken down.

Akchar added that yoga helps maintain balance within the body by improving the function of the liver and kidneys, which are essential organs for detoxification and regulating uric acid levels.

He emphasized six main yoga poses that play a significant role in reducing uric acid:

1. Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Spinal Twist) – detoxifies and stimulates the liver and kidneys.
2. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) – energizes the body, improves blood flow, and relieves stiffness.
3. Pavanamuktasana (Wind-Relieving Pose) – supports digestion and enhances kidney and liver function.
4. Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) – increases flexibility and aids in toxin elimination.
5. Uttanasana (Standing Forward Bend) – reduces tension and purifies the body.
6. Shavasana (Corpse Pose) – calms the nervous system and improves sleep quality.

He concluded by recommending a balanced, low-purine diet alongside regular yoga practice, emphasizing that this combination helps protect the body from uric acid buildup, supports joint health, and promotes overall wellness.
