Britain is facing growing alarm over the spread of a highly dangerous synthetic drug known as “Frankenstein,” also called nitazenes. Experts warn that real death figures linked to this substance may be far higher than official records suggest.
This drug is considered one of the most lethal substances to enter illegal markets in recent years. It is estimated to be around 500 times stronger than heroin, meaning even microscopic amounts can trigger a fatal overdose. Dealers often mix it with street drugs or press it into fake painkillers and anti-anxiety pills sold online without users knowing the true contents.
Deaths That Go Undetected
Recent research shows that post-mortem medical tests often fail to detect nitazenes in blood samples. The substance breaks down rapidly after death, leaving only a small percentage detectable over time.
Routine toxicology screenings also do not always include nitazenes, allowing many cases to pass without proper identification and creating a dangerous gap between reported and actual deaths.
Fast and Fatal Symptoms
Nitazenes directly affect breathing and the nervous system. Overdose symptoms include:

Experiments also show the drug virtually disappears from blood after a short period, explaining why many deaths remain unexplained in forensic reports and turning the crisis into a wave of “hidden fatalities.”
