When Will Mido’s Fine Against Referee Mahmoud El-Banna Become Final?

The Cairo Economic Court of Appeal has fined former player Ahmed Hossam Mido 20,000 EGP after he was accused of insulting and defaming referee Mahmoud El-Banna on social media following a match between Al Ahly and Pyramids FC.
The ruling is not final yet, as Mido has the legal right to appeal to the Court of Cassation within the designated period. If the appeal is rejected, the ruling will become final and enforceable, obliging Mido to pay the imposed fine.
Referee Mahmoud El-Banna filed a complaint with the public prosecutor, stating that Mido publicly insulted him on social media and accused him of favoritism towards Al Ahly, which was considered verbal abuse and defamation under the law.
