An Islamic scholar emphasized that Sharia clearly prohibits exploiting positions of power or influence for personal or unjustified gain, explaining that a job is a trust and compensation for work performed, not a tool for additional benefits.

He cited the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who disapproved of individuals claiming personal gains from their official duties, clarifying that anything obtained through a position is directly tied to the work itself and must not be misused.

The scholar further explained that public officials must maintain the highest level of integrity, as any unlawful benefit gained through position is considered a breach of trust and a source of injustice.

He also referred to the conduct of the righteous predecessors, who were extremely cautious about avoiding any benefit that could be linked to their status or authority, ensuring purity and fairness.

Using influence to pressure or intimidate others for personal gain is strictly forbidden, as it falls under unjust consumption of wealth and corruption of societal trust.

He concluded that integrity and self-restraint are the foundation of blessing in life, and avoiding doubtful matters protects one’s faith, wealth, and dignity.
