Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree, is among the greatest nights of the year, better than a thousand months, as stated in the Qur’an: ﴿Indeed, We sent it down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.﴾ The Prophet ﷺ advised seeking it during the last ten nights of Ramadan, offering abundant opportunities to draw close to Allah.

Some of the accepted prayers for Laylat al-Qadr include:

  1. O Allah, You are Pardoning and love pardon, so pardon us.

  2. O Allah, we turn to You as the desperate, and treat us according to what You are worthy of, for there is no power nor might except through You.

  3. O Allah, accept our fasting and prayers, and reward us with the best recompense for our righteous deeds.

  4. O Allah, forgive me, my parents, and the believers, and grant us Paradise through Your mercy.

  5. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, weakness and laziness, stinginess and cowardice, the burden of debt, and oppression by men.

  6. Our Lord, we have believed in You and Your Messenger, so record us among those freed from the Fire on a Day when wealth and children will not benefit except the one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.

  7. O Allah, make the Qur’an the spring of our hearts and light of our chests, and grant us understanding of it during day and night.

  8. O Allah, rectify our religion, which is the protection of our affairs, our worldly life, and our Hereafter.
