أذكار بعد الصلاة

There are several authentic adhkar and duas after every prayer that Muslims are encouraged to recite after completing the obligatory prayers.

These supplications include seeking Allah's forgiveness, praising Him, declaring His greatness and oneness, and reciting verses and chapters of the Quran.

Seeking Forgiveness After Prayer

One of the established practices after completing the prayer is to say:

“Astaghfirullah” three times.

Then the worshipper says:

“Allahumma anta as-salam, wa minkas-salam, tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram.”

This is among the most well-known adhkar recited immediately after the prayer.

Tahlil After Prayer

Among the established adhkar after prayer is:

“La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Allahumma la mani'a lima a'tayt, wa la mu'tiya lima mana't, wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddi minkal-jadd.”

This dhikr affirms Allah's absolute oneness, sovereignty, and power.

Tasbih, Tahmid and Takbir After Salah

A Muslim may say:

“Subhanallah” 33 times,

“Alhamdulillah” 33 times,

and “Allahu Akbar” 33 times.

The hundred is completed by saying:

“La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir.”

These words combine glorification, praise, greatness, and affirmation of Allah's oneness.

Reciting Ayat al-Kursi After Prayer

It is recommended to recite Ayat al-Kursi after the obligatory prayers.

It begins:

“Allahu la ilaha illa huwa al-hayyul-qayyum...”

Ayat al-Kursi is one of the greatest verses of the Quran, and Muslims commonly include its recitation among their post-prayer adhkar.

Reciting the Mu'awwidhat After Prayer

The following chapters may be recited after prayer:

  • Surat Al-Ikhlas
  • Surat Al-Falaq
  • Surat An-Nas

They are recited once after the prayers, with repetition three times after Fajr and Maghrib.

Adhkar After Fajr

There are also supplications associated specifically with the morning after Fajr.

Among them is:

“Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman nafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.”

Meaning:

“O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.”

It is also reported that the following dhikr may be said ten times after Fajr:

“La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, yuhyi wa yumit, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir.”

Adhkar After Fajr and Maghrib

Among the supplications associated with Fajr and Maghrib is:

“Allahumma ajirni min an-nar.”

It may be said seven times.

These morning and evening adhkar are part of the broader practice of remembering Allah at the prescribed times.
