Al-Azhar University has once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting cultural understanding and global dialogue through its new media message for international students. The university’s Media Service for International Students launched a new episode of its renowned short video series, “Here is Al-Azhar: The Meeting Point of Civilizations,” this time featuring content in three widely spoken Indonesian languages — Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese, and Sundanese.
The video delivers an inspiring message inviting people from Southeast Asia to visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, a monumental cultural hub that showcases Egypt’s ancient heritage and humanity’s artistic brilliance.
This initiative reflects Al-Azhar’s global role in connecting cultures and promoting peaceful coexistence. It highlights how Al-Azhar goes beyond religious education, acting as a bridge between civilizations by fostering understanding, respect, and shared human values.
The episode emphasizes that the Grand Egyptian Museum is not merely a repository of artifacts, but a living testament to the creativity and innovation of ancient Egypt. Through the three languages, the presenters invite their compatriots to explore the treasures of Tutankhamun and other ancient masterpieces preserved within the museum’s vast halls.
Dr. Nahla Al-Saeedi, Advisor to the Grand Imam on International Student Affairs, confirmed that this project is part of ongoing collaboration between Al-Azhar’s Development Center and the World Islamic Council for Preaching and Relief. She stated that the series aims to highlight Al-Azhar’s cultural diversity and its status as a global beacon of dialogue and understanding.
The initiative was officially announced during the International Students Council meeting chaired by Professor Dr. Salama Dawood, President of Al-Azhar University, who emphasized the importance of empowering international students to express their cultures in their native languages and promote Egypt’s image worldwide.
The series continues to gain significant traction across social media platforms, particularly among Indonesian and Malaysian audiences, strengthening Egypt’s cultural diplomacy and soft power on the global stage.
