Dar Al-Ifta clarified that celebrating the birthdays of saints and righteous figures is religiously recommended, as it encourages emulation of their virtuous conduct. Designating specific days for commemoration, whether their actual birthday or other significant dates, is permissible based on the Quranic verse: ﴿وَذَكِّرْهُمْ بِأَيَّامِ اللهِ﴾ [Ibrahim: 5].

The Fatwa emphasized that some celebrations may witness improper practices, such as mixing men and women excessively, overspending, or other un-Islamic behaviors, which must be addressed to preserve the true purpose of the event.

The main goal of the celebrations is not mere spectacle, but promoting positive values and encouraging emulation of the saints. Spending energy on disputes over these occasions distracts from the real purpose, so Muslims are advised to focus on community building and unity.

Dar Al-Ifta confirmed that various charitable acts, such as feeding the poor or giving to the needy, are encouraged during these celebrations, as long as they comply with Islamic law and avoid misuse.
