Dar Al-Ifta's Position on AI

Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta has stated that using artificial intelligence to help create digital Qurans and AI-generated Quran recitations is permissible under Islamic law, provided it serves as a tool to help Muslims improve Quran recitation and memorization.

The institution emphasized that all digital Qurans and AI-generated recitations must be reviewed by the competent religious authorities responsible for verifying the accuracy of the Holy Quran before being released.

According to Dar Al-Ifta, AI may only be used as an assisting tool and should never replace qualified scholarly review to ensure the correctness of Quranic text and recitation.
