The best prayer for repentance is the “Master of Forgiveness” narrated from the Prophet ﷺ:
"O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant, and I am on Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I confess my sins, so forgive me; indeed, none forgives sins except You."

Repentance must be accompanied by regret for the sin, immediate cessation, and firm resolve not to return.

Various prayers for repentance and forgiveness:

• Comprehensive prayer:
  "O Allah, forgive all my sins, the small and the major, the first and the last, the hidden and the apparent"

• From the Prophet ﷺ:
  "O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly, and none forgives sins except You, so forgive me from You and have mercy on me, indeed You are the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful"

• For repentance from sins:
  "O Allah, I repent to You in this moment from my major and minor sins, inner and outer misdeeds, past mistakes and incidents, repentance that prevents me from returning to sin"

• Prayer for steadfastness:
  "O Allah, we ask You for continuous repentance and seek refuge from sin and its causes"

Conditions for sincere repentance (Tawbah Nasuhah):

1. Regret: Feeling remorse for the sin.

2. Cessation: Stop the sin immediately.

3. Resolve: Never return to the sin.

4. Restitution: Return any rights to those wronged.

Allah opens the door of repentance day and night, even until the sun rises from the west, for those who sincerely return to Him.
