Sheikh Ahmed Wassam clarified that a person who is keen on making up missed prayers alongside each current prayer is following a valid and commendable approach, as it reflects a sincere intention to fulfill past obligations.

He explained that missed prayers do not fall away with time; rather, they remain a responsibility upon the individual until they are performed. Therefore, a Muslim must repent to Allah and resolve to make up all missed prayers as part of completing their repentance.

He emphasized that true repentance includes correcting past shortcomings in acts of worship such as prayer, fasting, and zakat, noting that neglect does not cancel obligations but requires the person to make them up according to their ability.

He added that the method of combining current prayers with missed ones is permissible, allowing a person to perform one or more missed prayers after each obligatory prayer, depending on their capacity and available time.

He further stated that maintaining this approach helps gradually clear the backlog of missed prayers until the person is confident that they have fulfilled what is required, while also stressing the importance of consistently performing prayers on time moving forward.

This balanced approach combines fulfilling present obligations with making up for the past, helping the believer remain disciplined in worship and closer to Allah through regular prayer and commitment.
