Cave of Hira holds a special place in Islamic history because it was the location where Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, received the beginning of the divine revelation.

Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, reported that the Prophet Muhammad used to retreat to Cave of Hira and engage in worship there.
