Ayat al-Kursi
One of the most well-known morning remembrances is Ayat al-Kursi, which is recited once:
Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who could intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and preserving them does not tire Him. He is the Most High, the Most Great.
It is verse 255 of Surah Al-Baqarah and is among the most widely recited verses for remembrance and protection.
Sayyid al-Istighfar
Sayyid al-Istighfar, the master supplication for seeking forgiveness, is recited once in the morning:
O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no deity except You. You created me and I am Your servant. I abide by Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for no one forgives sins except You.
This supplication combines acknowledgment of Allah's lordship, servitude, gratitude for His blessings, recognition of one's shortcomings, and a request for forgiveness.
