Egypt’s Dar Al-Iftaa has affirmed that Islam views wealth as a cornerstone of life and a key factor in the progress of nations and the development of civilizations. The institution stressed that earning money through lawful means is a noble duty that contributes to social stability and human advancement.
In a statement on its official page, Dar Al-Iftaa clarified that Islam does not condemn the love of wealth but regulates it, directing individuals to acquire and spend it in ways that serve humanity and earn divine satisfaction. Wealth, when earned honestly and used wisely, becomes a tool for growth and blessing rather than corruption.
The statement further noted that the prosperity of any nation depends on its citizens’ integrity, hard work, and adherence to ethical earning. Lawful income strengthens national economies, promotes justice, and fulfills Islam’s vision of balanced development.
Grand Mufti Dr. Nazir Ayyad also addressed the issue of employees accepting personal payments for job-related favors, explaining that such actions constitute bribery and are forbidden in Islam. He urged all workers to uphold integrity, avoid unlawful earnings, and be patient in seeking legitimate income.
Dar Al-Iftaa concluded by calling on society to promote honest work and ethical conduct, stressing that nations rise not by slogans, but through sincere effort and responsible labor.
