Egypt’s Endowments Ministry to Inaugurate 23 Mosques Across Governorates Tomorrow
The Ministry of Endowments will open 23 mosques tomorrow Friday across several Egyptian governorates as part of ongoing development and renovation projects.
In a continued effort to develop places of worship across Egypt, the Ministry of Endowments announced the inauguration of 23 mosques tomorrow, Friday, April 24, 2026, following construction, renovation, and maintenance works across multiple governorates.
Wide Geographic Distribution
The inaugurated mosques are spread across Luxor, Sharqia, Giza, Qena, Beheira, Assiut, Beni Suef, Sohag, Fayoum, North Sinai, and Gharbia, reflecting a nationwide development initiative.
Renovation and Construction Works
The plan includes:
- Construction of 1 new mosque
- Renovation and reconstruction of 14 mosques
- Maintenance and development of 8 mosques
Notable Mosques
In Luxor, Abu El-Hassan El-Shazly Mosque in Esna was renovated, while Sharqia saw multiple openings including Al-Qeliny and Fatma Habeeb mosques.
Giza witnessed the development of Al-Tawheed Mosque, while Qena, Beheira, Assiut, Beni Suef, Sohag, Fayoum, North Sinai, and Gharbia also saw multiple mosque upgrades and openings.
Ongoing Development Strategy
