The Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf has delivered a strong message against violence toward women, urging men to treat their wives with compassion and kindness.

“True strength isn’t in raising your hand against her; it’s in raising her status and treating her with dignity,” the ministry stated.

The ministry denounced toxic masculinity that equates harshness with manhood, stressing that violence breaks both the woman’s spirit and the man’s humanity.

It added:

“Manhood is not about aggression; it’s about good companionship, preserving dignity, and protecting one’s family. Real power protects — it doesn’t harm.”

The statement also called for raising children on values of respect and mercy, reminding families that these are divine principles, not luxuries. It quoted the Quranic verse:

“And live with them in kindness” (An-Nisa 4:19),
and the saying of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
“The best of you are those who are best to their families.”

The ministry concluded its message with a heartfelt prayer:

“O Allah, bless our homes and guide us to the best of manners. None guides to the best but You.”

In related news, the Ministry of Awqaf announced the opening of 17 new mosques on Friday, October 24, 2025 — including 6 newly rebuilt and 11 renovated ones — bringing the total number of mosques inaugurated since July 2025 to 261 across Egypt.

Since 2014, the ministry has completed 13,750 mosque projects including construction, renovation, and furnishing, with a total investment of 23.9 billion EGP, reaffirming its commitment to revitalizing Egypt’s mosques spiritually and physically.
