The Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf has announced that the topic of the upcoming Friday sermon on November 7, 2025, will be “Children’s Addiction to Social Media.” The sermon aims to raise awareness about the risks of excessive internet use among children and its negative effects on mental, educational, and social well-being.
The ministry explained that the sermon will emphasize the role of families and schools in guiding children’s digital behavior, promoting balanced and responsible use of technology, and protecting them from harmful content. It will also highlight practical ways to reduce screen dependency, such as encouraging outdoor activities, setting clear time limits, and strengthening family communication.
Meanwhile, the New Valley Directorate of Awqaf organized a field visit to Al-Qasr Islamic City as part of the “Correct Your Concepts” initiative launched by the ministry in cooperation with national institutions, under the patronage of Dr. Osama El-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, and supervised by Sheikh Abdel-Mohemin El-Sayed Mohamed, the director of the directorate.
The visit aimed to connect students with Egypt’s historical and civilizational identity, while reinforcing the values of moderation and patriotism. Al-Qasr City, located in Dakhla Oasis, is considered one of the oldest surviving Islamic cities in Egypt, featuring layers of Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic, and Islamic heritage, and known for its sulfuric healing springs.
Participants praised the initiative for spreading accurate religious understanding and promoting tolerance and coexistence, affirming that such educational programs play a key role in strengthening both faith and national belonging.
