Real-life observations suggest several signs that may indicate such influence, including: unusual fatigue, a drop in academic performance, social withdrawal, pale complexion, recurring headaches, high fever, excessive sweating—especially on the back—joint pain, trembling, unexplained crying, fainting episodes, or deep lethargy. Unexplained bruises may also appear.

Psychological symptoms may include isolation, irritability, emotional tension, or a persistent sense of heaviness in the head and shoulders.

Islamic teachings affirm the reality of the evil eye and recommend protection through reciting morning and evening supplications, Ayat Al-Kursi, the last verses of Al-Baqarah, and performing ruqyah, which includes reading Al-Fatihah, Surah Al-Ikhlas, and the Muʿawwidhat. Parents may gently place their hand on the child’s head, recite, and then wipe over the body.

Regular recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah, giving charity, and continuous prayer are also among the strongest means of protection, helping children regain calmness and emotional balance.
