During his Friday sermon at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, Sheikh Abdulbari Al-Thubaity addressed the growing impact of digital influencers in today’s fast-paced world, emphasizing that influence is not about fame or prestige—it is a divine trust and a moral responsibility that must be used to benefit others.

He noted that the digital age has amplified voices in unprecedented ways, allowing a single post or statement to reach thousands, even millions. Some individuals gained this influence through sincerity, wisdom, or their ability to represent noble values and inspire hope and goodness in society.

Sheikh Al-Thubaity stressed that true influence is not measured by follower counts or popularity but by the positive and lasting impact it leaves on people’s hearts and lives. Those blessed with influence, he said, carry a heavy responsibility because a single word or video can shape behavior, alter decisions, and change lives.

“The true influencer,” he added, “is the one who uplifts others, spreads optimism and faith, and guides people toward righteousness and unity. Every word you share could be recorded as a lasting deed in your favor—or against you.”

He cited the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) saying:

“A person may utter a word pleasing to Allah without realizing its significance, and Allah records for him His pleasure until the Day he meets Him. And a person may utter a word displeasing to Allah without realizing its significance, and Allah records for him His anger until the Day he meets Him.”

Sheikh Al-Thubaity further emphasized that influencers have become partners in shaping minds and morals, urging them to use their platforms responsibly to spread knowledge, inspire growth, and strengthen unity and faith.

He concluded by praising the sincere content creators who dedicate their platforms to promoting goodness in religion, education, ethics, and health, helping build a balanced generation that loves its faith and homeland.
Finally, he called on Muslims to fear Allah and remain conscious of Him, as piety is the believer’s greatest safeguard and source of true success.
