The Ministry of Endowments continues its ambitious plan to develop and expand places of worship, announcing the opening of six mosques on Friday, March 27, 2026.

The projects include the complete reconstruction and renovation of four mosques, along with maintenance and upgrades for two others, aiming to provide a comfortable and spiritually uplifting environment for worshippers.

According to official figures, a total of 935 mosques have been opened since July 2025, including 733 newly built or fully renovated mosques, in addition to 202 that underwent maintenance and development.

The ministry also revealed that since July 2024, a total of 14,424 mosques have been renovated, maintained, or furnished, with an estimated cost of around 27 billion and 3 million Egyptian pounds, highlighting the scale of investment in this sector.

The newly opened mosques are distributed across several governorates, including New Valley, Assiut, Matrouh, and Sohag, reflecting a balanced geographical approach to improving religious services.

These efforts demonstrate a continued commitment to enhancing not only the physical structure of mosques but also their role in promoting spiritual values and community engagement.
