The time of iftar is considered one of the most promising moments for answered prayers, as the fasting person stands in a state of humility and devotion before God, fully aware of His mercy and generosity. This makes supplication at this moment one of the most cherished acts of worship, particularly for those observing the six days of Shawwal fasting in pursuit of reward and closeness to God.

Among the recommended supplications at the time of breaking the fast is: “O Allah, for You I have fasted and with Your provision I break my fast,” while maintaining sincere intention and a mindful heart, as sincerity and certainty are among the greatest reasons for acceptance.

A believer may also supplicate with whatever they wish for in matters of both this life and the hereafter—seeking forgiveness, relief from hardship, ease in affairs, provision, guidance, and steadfastness upon righteousness. Supplication in this moment combines hope and reliance upon God.

It is also recommended to remember God before and after breaking the fast, engaging in remembrance and seeking forgiveness, such as saying: Glory be to God, praise be to God, there is no god but God, and God is the Greatest, along with personal prayers for oneself and loved ones. These are moments in which mercy descends and doors of response are opened.

Supplication is not limited to specific words; rather, it encompasses all that lies within the heart. The closer one is to God and the more sincere one’s supplication, the greater the hope for acceptance—especially during these blessed days following Ramadan, where acts of worship are eagerly maintained.
