Ramadan 2026 Date in Egypt – Countdown Begins for the Holy Month
The countdown to Ramadan 2026 has begun, and according to astronomical calculations, the first day of fasting is expected to fall on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, pending the official moon sighting by Egypt’s Dar Al Iftaa.
As the sacred month of Ramadan 2026 approaches, hearts fill with longing for the season of mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal. Based on astronomical predictions, the first day of Ramadan 1447 AH is expected to begin on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The official confirmation will follow the moon sighting conducted by Dar Al Iftaa Egypt after sunset on the 29th of Sha’ban.
Dar Al Iftaa has announced that multiple observation committees across Egypt will combine astronomical calculations and visual sightings to ensure precise determination of the new lunar month. The institution emphasized that Islamic rulings rely on confirmed visual observation, supported by modern astronomical data.
Ramadan, the month of faith and forgiveness, is marked by countless blessings — among them Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power), when prayers are answered and rewards multiplied. During this month, the gates of paradise are opened, the devils are chained, and acts of worship bring believers closer to their Creator.
Dua for Welcoming Ramadan:
“O Allah, let us reach Ramadan with faith and safety. Bless us with fasting and night prayers, and make us among those whom You free from the Hellfire.”
