Fatwas confirm that greeting others for Ramadan is permissible and responding with equal or better words is encouraged, strengthening ties among Muslims. Common greetings include: "May Allah accept [your deeds]", "Happy Ramadan", and "Ramadan Kareem".

The Prophet ﷺ welcomed Ramadan joyfully, greeting his companions at the end of Sha’ban with: “Ramadan has come, a blessed month.” The companions prepared spiritually through prayer, fasting, and Quran recitation, completing any missed fasts to enter Ramadan ready.

They focused on family ties and increasing acts of worship, anticipating the opening of heaven’s doors and the closing of hellfire. Recommended intentions include completing the Quran, sincere repentance, earning good deeds, correcting behavior, and following a full program of worship and devotion.
