What is Salat al-Istikhara?

In it, the servant asks Allah Almighty to choose what is best for him and to turn away what is bad from him, through His knowledge and wisdom.
How to perform Salat al-Istikhara step by step
1. Purification and intention
The Muslim begins with a complete ablution, then makes the intention of Istikhara in his heart without verbalizing it.
2. Performing two rak’ahs
He prays two non-obligatory rak’ahs, reciting Al-Fatiha and whatever is easy from the Qur’an in each rak’ah.

After finishing the prayer, the Muslim raises his hands in humility and recites the well-known Istikhara supplication narrated from the Prophet ﷺ.

O Allah, if You know that this matter (mention your need) is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless me in it. And if You know that it is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and ordain for me what is good wherever it may be, and make me content with it.”
