Prophet Solomon (Sulaiman), peace be upon him, was one of the greatest prophets of Allah. He was blessed with both prophethood and a magnificent kingdom unlike any other. Allah granted him wisdom, knowledge, and extraordinary miracles, including control over the wind, communication with birds, and authority over the jinn.
Who Was Prophet Solomon?
Prophet Solomon was the son of Prophet David (Dawud), peace be upon him. Allah says in the Quran: "And Solomon inherited David." (Quran 27:16) Islamic scholars explain that this inheritance refers to prophethood and kingship, not wealth, as prophets do not leave financial inheritance.

Understanding the Language of Birds
Allah taught Solomon the language of birds and other creatures, enabling him to understand their communication.
Control Over the Jinn, Humans, and Birds
Allah gathered armies of humans, jinn, and birds under Solomon's command. The jinn carried out construction, diving, and other tasks by Allah's permission.
Control of the Wind
One of Solomon's greatest miracles was that the wind obeyed his command, carrying him wherever he wished by Allah's permission.
The Queen of Sheba
One of the most famous events in Solomon's life is his encounter with the Queen of Sheba (Bilqis). After receiving news from the hoopoe bird that her people worshipped the sun, Solomon invited her to worship Allah alone. She eventually accepted the truth and submitted to Allah.
The Death of Prophet Solomon
The Quran explains that Solomon died while leaning on his staff. The jinn continued working, believing he was still alive, until termites consumed his staff and his body fell. This miraculous event proved that the jinn do not possess knowledge of the unseen, which belongs solely to Allah.
How Long Did Prophet Solomon Live?
Some classical scholars reported that Solomon lived approximately 52 years and ruled for 40 years, although no authentic Quranic or Prophetic narration specifies his exact age.

Gratitude preserves Allah's blessings. True power comes from obedience to Allah. Wisdom is the foundation of righteous leadership. Only Allah has knowledge of the unseen. Calling people to Allah should be done with wisdom and kindness.
