Supplications for Performing Umrah
Discover the recommended supplications before going for Umrah to make the journey easier, visit the Holy Kaaba, and strengthen your connection with Allah.
Performing Umrah and Hajj is the dream of every Muslim seeking to visit the Holy Kaaba and the Prophet’s Mosque. For those aspiring for this spiritual honor, reciting supplications before traveling for Umrah is a Sunnah that Allah accepts.
Recommended supplications before departure include: "The Generous Messenger of Allah and Allah is more Generous… Can a poor one be deprived between two Generous?", and "O Allah, forgive my sins, guard my chastity, and purify my heart," invoking forgiveness and seeking divine protection. Upon Ihram, the pilgrim should declare the intention: "I intend Umrah and assume Ihram for Allah Almighty."
It is recommended to recite the Talbiyah throughout the journey: "Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk, no partner unto You, Labbayk, indeed all praise and blessings are Yours, and the dominion, no partner unto You," filling the heart with devotion and drawing closer to Allah. Upon seeing the Kaaba, supplicate: "O Allah, increase this House in honor, sanctity, and awe," seeking blessing and reverence.
During Tawaf, maintain constant Tasbih, Tahleel, and prayers: "Glory be to Allah and praise Him, Glory be to Allah the Great, there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, His is the dominion and praise, and He has power over all things," seeking forgiveness, protection, and guidance in all deeds.
Other accepted supplications include: "O Allah, enrich me with Your lawful over unlawful, with Your obedience over disobedience, and by Your grace above all others," and "O Allah, shade me under Your Throne on the Day when there is no shade except Yours," seeking Paradise, protection from Hell, and refuge from disbelief, polytheism, trials, and evil manners.
Travel supplications for Umrah include: "O Allah, this House is Yours, the Sanctuary is Yours, safety is Yours, I am Your servant and the son of Your servant," asking for a drink from the Prophet Muhammad’s pond, and protection for self, family, and wealth, alongside strengthening faith and performing good deeds.
Reciting these supplications prepares the pilgrim spiritually and mentally, making the Umrah journey filled with devotion, piety, and closeness to Allah.
