💬 Shobier Renews His Support for Ramadan Sobhi
Media personality Ahmed Shobier has reiterated his support for Ramadan Sobhi, the Pyramids player, following the rejection of the appeal submitted by the player before the Federal Court against his four-year suspension stemming from the doping-sample controversy.
Shobier stressed that Ramadan Sobhi is going through an extremely difficult stage in his career and needs psychological and emotional support rather than additional criticism and pressure.
⚖️ Shobier Discusses the Rejected Appeal
Shobier explained that there had been hope that Ramadan Sobhi’s appeal could be accepted by the Federal Court, particularly after the court agreed to examine the case. However, the outcome was ultimately different from what the player and his legal team had hoped for.
Speaking on his radio program, Shobier said: “The issue is old and there is nothing new, but there was hope that the appeal would be accepted by the Federal Court. What hurts me is that the lawyers gave us hope simply because the court agreed to consider the appeal, as if that meant it would eventually be accepted.”
His comments reflect the expectations that had surrounded the appeal before the final decision was reached.
⏳ Shobier: The Suspension Is Very Long in Football
Shobier also pointed out that Ramadan Sobhi has already served part of the suspension, explaining that almost one year has passed since the beginning of the four-year period, leaving around three years remaining.
He added: “As of the moment I am speaking, almost one year of the four-year suspension has passed, meaning three years remain. That is not a long period in terms of life, but it is very long in football, especially since Ramadan will turn 30 next January, and by the time he returns he will be approaching 33.”
Shobier believes the length of the suspension represents a significant sporting challenge for the player, particularly because of his age at the time of a potential return.

Shobier reiterated his hope that the situation can eventually be resolved and that Ramadan Sobhi can return to playing football, highlighting the personal and human aspect of his support for the player.
He said: “All I hope is that something happens and Ramadan returns to playing again. Ramadan is like my son to me. He was not successful regarding the sample issue, but I have to empathize with him, stand by him and pray for him. Perhaps the prayer of a righteous person could be a reason for resolving his problem.”
At the same time, Shobier acknowledged the mistake connected to the controversy while stressing that the current stage requires more compassion and support.

Shobier concluded by sending a message to those following the case about how Ramadan Sobhi should be treated during this difficult period, insisting that the player needs support rather than additional harsh criticism.
He said: “Ramadan now needs someone to support and comfort him, not harshness. When your son is going through a difficult time, you should support him and not be harsh on him.”
Shobier also noted that Ramadan Sobhi is facing a severe crisis, referring to another previous issue he described as the Institute and Education case, before the player found himself dealing with the current suspension crisis.
The comments come as Shobier calls for greater support and compassion toward the player while the consequences of the suspension continue to affect his football career.
