Samir Chaoudi was elected as the new president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) for a term extending until 2029, marking the beginning of a new phase aimed at a comprehensive reform of Brazil’s football system. Chaoudi, 41 years old, is known for a clear vision based on transparency, inclusiveness, and modernization. Despite objections and boycotts by more than 20 clubs during the election session, Chaoudi secured 103 votes to claim the presidency, reflecting broad support for his new vision. The election came amid administrative turmoil in the CBF, highlighted by the dismissal of the former president following the sudden appointment of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to lead the national team. During the transitional period, vice president Fernando Sarney temporarily held the position until these elections were organized.
