Many women believe that sunscreen alone is enough to fully protect the skin from darkening, but in reality, application habits play a crucial role in its effectiveness.
Experts explain that even high-quality sunscreens cannot block 100% of UV radiation, and improper use can reduce their protective benefits significantly.
The first common mistake is applying too little sunscreen, which leads to insufficient coverage and weak protection. A proper amount should be used to fully cover the face and body for effective defense against UV exposure.
The second mistake is not reapplying regularly. Sunscreen wears off due to sweat, water, and natural skin oils, so it should be reapplied every two to three hours when exposed to sunlight.
The third mistake is wrong timing of application. Applying sunscreen immediately before stepping outside does not give it enough time to form a protective barrier. It should be applied 15–20 minutes before sun exposure.
Proper sunscreen use is not just about choosing the right product, but also about applying it correctly to maintain healthy and protected skin.
