A Time When Dua Is Answered Repeats Five Times Daily — Many People Overlook It

Scholars have revealed a blessed moment that repeats five times every day when prayers are accepted — the time between the call to prayer (Adhan) and the Iqama, described by the Prophet ﷺ as a moment when supplications are never rejected.

Many Muslims overlook one of the most precious moments in the day — the time between the Adhan and the Iqama, which occurs five times daily and is among the most powerful moments for answered prayers.

Dr. Mokhtar Marzouk Abdulrahim, Professor of Quranic Interpretation at Al-Azhar University in Assiut, stated that one of the noble Sunnahs related to prayer is making Dua between the Adhan and Iqama. He cited the hadith of Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) in which a man said to the Prophet ﷺ, “The callers to prayer are more virtuous than us.” The Prophet replied: “Say as they say, and when you finish, ask and you will be given.” — narrated by Abu Dawood and Al-Nasa’i and authenticated by Ibn Hibban.

This blessed time occurs five times daily, as the Adhan and Iqama accompany every obligatory prayer. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that maintaining the related Sunnahs throughout the day and night amounts to twenty-five virtuous acts — a practice only observed by the most devout.

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) also reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “The supplication made between the Adhan and the Iqama is not rejected.” — a hadith recorded by Al-Tirmidhi, confirming that this is one of the moments when prayers are certainly answered.

Imam Al-‘Imrani wrote in Al-Bayan that this virtue applies universally, whether the prayer is performed in a mosque or elsewhere, as divine mercy envelops all who call upon Allah during this sacred interval.

Therefore, a believer should seize these moments with sincerity and focus, raising his hands in humility, seeking goodness for this world and the next. Between the Adhan and the Iqama lies a divine pause — a whisper of mercy where the doors of heaven open to those who remember Allah with pure hearts.
