Al-Azhar has offered heartfelt prayers for Sudan, asking Almighty God to protect the nation from division and bloodshed and to restore peace, stability, and security to its people. In a strong statement, the institution condemned the horrific crimes and violations committed against innocent civilians in El Fasher, including killings, bombings, and deprivation of essential services, describing them as blatant violations of human and moral values.
The statement urged Sudan’s wise leaders and the international community to take swift and decisive action to stop the massacres, emphasizing the need to prioritize reason and unity to preserve the country's integrity. Al-Azhar also warned that political conflicts driven by foreign agendas would only bring further destruction, poverty, and disunity to Sudan.
Al-Azhar expressed its readiness to send urgent humanitarian aid convoys to Sudan to help alleviate the worsening crisis and called on the international community to fulfill its moral duty by ensuring the delivery of food, medicine, and humanitarian support, and by working toward a lasting ceasefire and the restoration of peace and stability.
