He cited the Quranic verse:
"Have you seen the one who has taken his own desire as his god?" (Quran 45:23)
He added that Allah Almighty honored humanity and guided them to distinguish between good and evil. However, the Holy Quran condemns those who forget their Lord and become self-sufficient, seeing nothing in the universe except their own desires and passions.
The Entire Universe Is Subject to Allah's Command
A Precise System Without Randomness
The member of Al-Azhar's Council of Senior Scholars pointed out that the entire universe prostrates to Allah and glorifies Him, citing the verse:
"Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth, as well as the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the animals, and many among mankind?" (Quran 22:18)
He explained that the movements of the sun, the moon, the night, and the day all follow a precise divine order. There is no randomness in creation; rather, it is governed by wisdom and perfect measure, as Allah says:
"It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. Each floats in its own orbit." (Quran 36:40)

Ali Gomaa explained that true freedom does not mean doing everything a person desires. Rather, it means liberating oneself from the bondage of personal desires and submitting to Allah alone.
