Ruling on Reciting Surah Yaseen to Fulfill Needs: Al-Azhar Clarifies
Al-Azhar’s Fatwa confirms that reciting Surah Yaseen is highly virtuous and may be done with the intention of fulfilling needs, while noting that the response to prayer is solely by Allah’s will.
Surah Yaseen is a recommended chapter of the Qur’an to recite regularly. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever recites Yaseen at night seeking Allah’s pleasure, his sins are forgiven." Al-Azhar Fatwa emphasized its great reward and virtues.
Reciting Surah Yaseen to Fulfill Needs:
It is permissible to recite Surah Yaseen intending to fulfill needs such as easing financial hardship, repaying debts, or resolving difficulties.
The reader should trust that Allah is capable of fulfilling their needs by the blessing of reciting the Qur’an and Surah Yaseen.
Recitation does not guarantee a specific number of repetitions or immediate acceptance of the prayer; Allah alone responds, but the reader earns the reward for recitation.
Recommended Supplications After Recitation:
"O Reliever, relieve us; Glory to Him in whose hand is the dominion of all things..."
"O Allah, I ask You by the virtue of Surah Yaseen and its blessings to fulfill my need..."
"O Allah, grant me lawful sustenance without hardship and answer my prayer without denial..."
Dr. Ali Gomaa, former Grand Mufti of Egypt, highlighted that reciting Surah Yaseen is among the best acts of devotion, and lack of immediate acceptance of prayer does not diminish the reward of recitation.
