There are gastroscopies and colonoscopies
Gastroscopy
It is used to diagnose the following conditions:
Gastroesophageal reflux: A condition in which acid flows from the stomach to the esophagus, causing heartburn.
Stomach ulcers: Painful ulcers in the lining of the stomach that may cause pain and indigestion.
H. pylori: A bacterial infection that causes stomach problems such as ulcers.
Gluten sensitivity (celiac disease): An immune reaction to gluten, a protein found in wheat and barley.
Esophageal and stomach cancer: Types of cancer that affect the esophagus or stomach.
Causes of persistent vomiting: Identifying the underlying causes of persistent vomiting.
Esophageal variceal ligation: A procedure to reduce bleeding from dilated esophageal varices.
These procedures are performed using an endoscope, a thin, flexible tube with a camera, and are performed painlessly under local or sedation anesthesia.
Colonoscopy
It is used to diagnose the following conditions:
Causes of chronic constipation: Determine the causes of persistent difficulty in defecation.
Chronic diarrhea: Such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, two inflammatory conditions that affect the intestines.
Colon cancer: Early detection of colon cancerous tumors.
Causes of rectal bleeding: Determine the possible causes of rectal bleeding.
This procedure is performed using a colonoscope, a flexible tube with a camera inserted through the rectum, and is also performed painlessly under local or sedation anesthesia.
Bariatric balloon treatment
A gastric balloon is a non-surgical procedure in which a deflated balloon is inserted through the mouth into the stomach using a gastroscope. After insertion, the balloon is filled with a saline solution to reduce the size of the stomach and increase the feeling of fullness.
Procedure duration: The balloon is installed in a few minutes.
Results: Helps lose about 25 kg in 6 months.
Safety: It is a safe procedure and does not require surgery, which reduces the risks associated with surgery.
